Acne and Diet
|
Most people with acne attempt to treat their irritated skin with external face washes, soaps, lotions and treatments. The best way to treat acne is by getting rid of acne causing foods such as fried foods and by changing how you eat.
A diet rich in natural fruits, vegetables, beans and whole grains is the treatment for helping acne. Foods containing trans-fatty acids like mile, margarine, shortening, milk products, fried foods and synthetically hydrogenated vegetable oils should be avoided.
It is possible the widespread acne condition in the US is directly attributable to the American diet. Americans tend to consume large quantities of fried foods which are generally cooked in harmful fats and oils. Not all fats are bad, but the fats that typical Americans eat make them more prone to develop acne and skin problems, such as what’s in ice cream, cheese, bacon, and milk.
Acne cannot really be treated using creams and soaps because the root of the condition lies beneath the skin. Skin blemishes and pimples are caused by bacteria and other irritants embedded under the skin’s oil glands and hair follicles, these are generally a result of hygiene and improper diet, including too much processed fatty, fried and sugary.
A healthy skin diet will emphasize raw and steamed vegetables, in particular green leafy vegetables containing valuable trace minerals which are rich in fiber. Fresh green veggies are critical. Also add lean protein source into your diet as well as complex carbohydrates, such as brown rice, potatoes and whole-grain breads. Fiber rich foods help to ensure a clean gastrointestinal tract, this is particularly important in the treatment of acne. Eat three healthy meals daily to provide important nutrients and to decrease your appetite for sugary or greasy fried foods. Also helpful in reducing acne breakouts are foods rich in vitamin A, like apricots, watermelon, and broccoli, as well as foods like lean beef, nuts, beans and whole grains that are rich in zinc.It is also critical to consume a lot of water to assist in flushing the toxins, that contribute to breakouts.
