Control Your Acne Naturally, Forget Harsh Chemicals

by Anthony Stai

Are you being overrun with pimples and zits? Hopefully not, but if you are then lets look at some alternatives to expensive medications and treatments.

First, “what is acne?” Simply, acne is a skin disorder this is caused by hormones interacting with your skin’s sebaceous glands that produce oils. The oils can lead to congestion in your skins pores when left too long on the skin. It’s at this point that the acne is forming. Acne can break out on your body in a number of places besides just your face which is the most common. It can break out on your neck, chest, back and shoulders and even your scalp. If severe acne is left untreated, it can lead to other problems such as scarring and may even lead to psychological disorders like depression.

Some of the factors that can contribute to acne outbreaks are genetics and hygiene. Of course, we can’t do anything about our genetics except thank our parents. But we can do something about the other factors following the simple steps listed here.

1. Fruits and Vegetables - Include at least the recommended daily allowance of 4 to 5 servings each day. Fruits and veggies have an amazing impact on the outbreak of acne.

2. Use rose water to clean you face. Simply use it at least twice per day to keep your face clear and refreshed.

3. React immediately when you see a pimple starting to appear. Start by cleaning the location which just soap and water. Then try patting ice on the swollen location to reduce the swelling and likely releasing the trapped oils from the pores. Then once again wash and rinse the location again to try to remove more oils.

4. Take your vitamins just like your mother always told you. Taking your vitamins will help maintain your body’s chemical balance or correct chemical imbalances. Start with a multivitamin that contains a zinc supplement because it helps to make your skin stronger and builds resistance to acne.

5. Cucumbers - Only this time they aren’t to eat. Create a cucumber paste by combining a cucumber with water to make a facial mask. Put it on for about half an hour and rinse off. This is affordable and helps control acne at the same time that it refreshes your skin.

6. Avoid harsh soaps and cleansers. While it is tempting to use soaps that will dry out those pimples, you really want to use a soap that is much milder and leave your skin moist. Avoid using petroleum based and animal based soaps because they will irritate your skin.

7. Avoid using alcohol based products on your skin, especially your face, because they will dry out your face. Alcohol free is becoming much easier to find these days because alcohol products are so harsh to your skin.

8. Pick and choose your makeup carefully because many contain petroleum products and will dry you skin out which isn’t necessarily what you want. You want to keep your skin clean and fresh not dry and flaky.

9. Finally, drink plenty of water. Keep your body hydrated to help fight the build-up of dirt and oils on your skin. Instead your body will try to flush those toxins out and leave you feeling better and fresh.

Using this list of natural acne remedies you will be able to at least reduce your acne if not completely obliterate it. As a wonderful side affect, your skin will feel better than it ever has and you will have an over all improvement in energy. Say goodbye to your acne today!
